Today, the word "Bauhaus" alone has a magical aura. In the years from 1919 to 1933, however, the Bauhaus was exposed to massive hostility. But the Bauhäusler did not allow themselves to be deterred; they rejected traditional concepts and broke new ground.
Weaving in particular had attracted many talented women. The most successful female students of Bauhaus weaving were Gunta Stölzl and Benita Otte. They enjoyed a lifelong friendship.
